“Buy With Confidence” Trading standards approved scheme

Buy with Confidence

Redlocks Locksmith are proud members of the “Buy With Confidence” Trading standards approved scheme.

Buy With ConfidenceIn response to concerns about ‘rogue traders’ which are often highlighted in the media, a partnership of Local Authority Trading Standards Services have taken a ground-breaking step by putting together the Buy With Confidence Scheme.

The scheme provides consumers with a list of local businesses which have given their commitment to trading fairly. Every business listed has undergone a series of detailed checks before being approved as a member of the scheme.

And it doesn’t stop there, once a business becomes a member of the scheme they are monitored by trading standards to ensure their continuing commitment to customer care. Feedback is invited from all their customers and members are re-visited regularly.

Just what we needed – excellent, fast service

07/04/2014 by C1Morgan

What more could we want from a lock smith when the front door key is jammed in the lock and we can’t get out! Someone who; answered my call at 07:30, called us when he was 20 mins away, diagnosed the problem in minutes, changed the lock with no mess, cut us 4 extra keys – all so we could get on with our day. My two young daughters thought he was magic and so did I. We would recommend this excellent service.

Squatting Law Change for vacant Commercial Property?

Could a recent and controversial change in the law making squatting a criminal offence in vacant domestic property increase the risk in your vacant commercial property at this time on year!!

On September 1, 2012, Britain’s controversial squatting law changed. It is now illegal for squatters to inhabit domestic property under the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders (Laspo) Act.

However, commercial buildings are not covered by the legislation. The increased number of vacant business premises being taken over by squatters since the change in the law suggests this omission will have significant repercussions for commercial landlords and insurers alike.

Given some 15% of commercial property in the UK stands vacant and with nearly 50,000 empty shops already on UK high streets, a shift towards squatting in these properties was inevitable when the new legislation simply shifted the problem from the homeowner to the business owner.

Don’t get caught in this trap, act now, secure your vacant building properly with the help of www.redlocks.co.uk
